Child Hearing Test

Expert paediatric hearing assessments at The Hearing Centre

At The Hearing Centre, we specialise in providing accurate, comfortable, and child-friendly hearing care. If you’re looking for a child hearing test, our paediatrically trained audiologists and advanced facilities ensure your child receives the highest standard of care in a warm, supportive environment.

Why a child hearing test matters

A professional child hearing test is essential if your child is showing signs of hearing difficulties, delayed speech, or has not passed a routine school screening. Early identification and treatment of hearing issues can make a significant difference in your child’s language development, learning, and overall wellbeing.

What happens at a childs hearing test?

We use advanced, age-appropriate technology to perform accurate hearing assessments for children of all ages. Our clinic features a full sound field test environment, allowing us to test hearing without headphones—a more natural and engaging approach for young children.

Our child hearing test services include:

Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA) – suitable for infants and toddlers
Conditioned Play Audiometry (CPA) – ideal for early school-age children
Tympanometry and Otoacoustic Emissions (OAEs) – to assess middle and inner ear function
Full Sound Field Testing – ideal for children who prefer not to wear headphones

Our paediatrically trained audiologists has years of experience working with children. We understand how to keep children relaxed, engaged, and focused during testing through play-based techniques and gentle guidance. Whether your child has special needs, anxiety, or is simply shy, our team knows how to create a positive experience.

Ben was very thorough in his explanation when I had my ear test and had previously removed wax blocking my ears a couple of weeks earlier. I feel reassured by him that all is good. It’s a very friendly atmosphere, very clean and I felt very comfortable there.

Very good experience . Ben was excellent. I liked that on a large screen I could see the before and after photos of ear wax. The process was pain free and Ben was friendly and explained the process throughout. 100% recommend coming here if you have Earwax build up

Genuinely the best service I have ever received in the twelve years I have had hearing loss. All of a sudden my old aids are working correctly and I am able to ‘road test’ the latest technology so I can make a real informed decision on making an upgrade. The staff so professional in all respects. Highly recommended.
