WHAT AUDIOLOGISTS CAN DIAGNOSE

Similar to how certain areas of the body require a specialist doctor or consultant to pinpoint a problem and address it with the best solution, as audiologists we do exactly the same for your ears and problems related to hearing, including tinnitus and balance disorders.

TYPES OF ISSUES WE REGULARLY DIAGNOSE AND TREAT:

  • Hearing ability
  • Hearing loss
  • Tinnitus
  • Balance disorders
  • Wax build up
  • Where hearing protection is required

HOW DO OUR LEICESTER AUDIOLOGISTS WORK?

Our audiologists in Leicester are based at our London Road clinic and we use the following processes to deliver the best audiology services possible, to our clients:

AUDIOLOGY TESTING

The first stage we go through at an audiology appointment is to test for certain disorders around hearing, tinnitus and balance.  This will include asking you about things such as family history and your working history.  Once the tests are completed, we analyse the results.

AUDIOLOGY RECOMMENDATIONS

Once we have assessed the results, we will speak to you about whether any treatment is needed.  Alongside this, we will advise you about how best to manage any disorder that may have been identified.

HEARING SOLUTIONS

Depending on what is required to make your hearing or balance better, we will be able to carry out a treatment for you or recommend suitable management methods.  Solutions include using hearing aidsremoving wax, use of implants and providing you with effective hearing protection equipment.

ADVICE ON BALANCE PROBLEMS

If we identify that you have an issue with balance, we will usually refer you to a medical professional to check that there are no underlying issues.

We will usually also carry out further tests, including more in-depth balance tests and tests that provide information about how well the inner function of your ear is working.  Once we have analysed these tests, we will be able to provide you with further specialist advice about treatment and managing your condition.
